The Band and its History

The core of the band formed originally in 1999 in succession to the acclaimed 'English Patients'. Working under the name of  Seismic Loveshift  it  developed a strong reputation on the  Leeds music scene.

In 2001 the band underwent a catharsis and is working up new material of local virtuoso singer/songwriter/guitarist John McLeod and keyboardist Rachel Evans.

It's other members, Martin Rushworth  and Rick Jones, provide a powerful and distinctive rhythm section having played previously in the local blues outfit Talk that Talk.

sei'smic love'shift (n.) geological earth movement akin to orgasm commonly occuring in West Yorkshire, created by the tumultuous confluence of crisp drumming, melodic bass, clean guitar and vocal mellifluence performing some of the most thoughtful, inspiring and haunting music of the twenty-first century.

Those rare and lucky enough to experience a seismic loveshift suffer the following symptoms: inability to cease humming snatches of music, inexplicable growth of moustache and acquisition of glasses, confirmation of listeners' excellent taste and intelligence, discovery of exciting CD full of best numbers.
